Do You Know the Best Diets of 2024?

BACKGROUNDBACKGROUND

Quick Weight Loss, founded in Florida, provides individualized weight loss therapy. The program boasts no exercise and you eat the foods you love including the diet program's own line of diet foods and herbal and thermogenic supplements.

Made popular by Rush Limbaugh who in 2009 lost a remarkable amount of weight in a short period of time following a Quick Weight Loss created just for him, this southern Florida company has helped many lose weight.

Currently, the only bricks and mortar Quick Weight Loss Centers are scattered around southern Florida but there is an online program that you can join from anywhere in the country. This home-based program is a six-week program in which you receive support and counseling via email and phone from Quick Weight Loss Center specialists.

Once you have signed up for either program, you work individually with a Quick Weight Loss Center expert in order to create your own customized diet plan.

In general, the Quick Weight Loss plan provides participants a diet that is low calorie (up to 1,500 calories/day). You buy the foods you like to make and supplement with Quick Weight Loss brand's bars, beverages, soups as well as supplement s that are intended to facilitate weight loss.

You can expect to lose three to seven pounds each week while following the Quick Weight Loss Center programs.

PROPRO
  • Doctor clearance shows they are being responsible
  • Helped Rush Limbaugh lose 80 pounds in 2009

  • Offers an individualized program to weight loss

  • One-on-one support provides motivation and accountability

CONCON
  • Weight loss claims may be exaggerated
  • Required to buy program's special line of foods increases costs
  • Herbal supplements and other stimulants are required
  • Supplements do not require FDA approval; check with your doctor before taking
  • Brick and mortar locations are limited to southern Florida and Texas
  • Low calorie diet plan may lead to rebound weight gain
  • Diet program rules are not scientifically founded
DIET and NUTRITIONDIET and NUTRITION

While all Quick Weight Loss Center diets are custom-designed, there are a few benchmark features that are applied to every participant's diet.

Most diet plans include a low-calorie and low-fat daily eating plan that is comprised of about 1,500 calories a day.

And while the company remains pretty hush-hush about what their diet looks like, a few secrets slipped through the cracks thanks to Rush's public discussion about his experience with Quick Weight Loss Centers.

There are a host of other food rules that you must abide by while following the program such as eating green peppers but not red bell peppers and not combining two different kinds of proteins in one meal. For instance you can have seven ounces of grilled chicken breast but not three ounces of white fish and four ounces of turkey breast in one meal. In addition, alcohol, sugar, refined flours and fried foods are not allowed.

You can also supplement with Quick Weight Loss Centers proprietary foods which can be purchased online or at one of the Center's Florida locations. Such foods include special puddings, shake mixes, nutrition bars, soups and oatmeal.

In addition, you are also encouraged to take Quick Weight Loss Centers own line of dietary supplements like essential fatty acids, herbs and carb blockers, all of which are supposed to facilitate speedy weight loss.

EXERCISEEXERCISE

You can engage in moderate exercise while following the Quick Weight Loss Center diet but hard-core exercise is not a strong feature of this plan.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION

Made popular almost overnight by conservative radio-host Rush Limbaugh who lost 80 pounds in just a few months, Quick Weight Loss Centers is a Florida-based customized diet plan that helps you lose weight quickly with its low-calorie and highly structured eating plan. But it is exactly this stringent plan that lands this diet in the category of countless other plans that take off a lot of weight in a short amount of time and then risks gaining it all back once you are no longer on the plan.

But with this rather mysterious diet plan filled with specific eating rules and special supplements that contain hoodia and ephedra-like stimulants, you might want to think twice about spending the money on Quick Weight Loss Center and instead think about incorporating more natural, practical and long-term strategies for successful weight loss.

Vicky,

You may be discouraged because you have the facts wrong. A lot of what you wrote is close, but does not reflect the QWLC diet. There is a lot of stuff on the internet that is wrong. If you want results bad enough to push through this diet is effective.

Very expensive and restrictive. You certainly are not allowed to eat the foods you love! You get 1/2 t. of fat per day and only get to eat certain green veggies or yellow squash. Occasionally you get 1/2 a small sweet potato. With that said you'd think that the fat would be falling off me, but the only thing I'm losing is my hair!

FRS Energy sells a drink mix that is almost identical to the QuikBoost (get the LITE pouches that you add to a bottle of water). If you sign up for AutoShip, you can get discounts after your first two shipments (then it goes to 30% off for two, 40% off for two and then 50%).

I didn't care for the berry flavor, the lemon lime is okay, and the orange is my favorite. I found that mixing it with 8 oz is too strong. I drink about 1/4 of my water bottle, then add the powder and shake the heck out of it (it doesn't dissolve right away).

I was on the plan a few years ago and lost over 20lbs but then got pregnant and gained it back and then some. I no longer have the paperwork or the money to go to a center right now. I was hoping someone could help me by emailing me the plan. I will start the 3 day detox tomorrow. My email ms_gablake at yahoo.

I did this diet several years ago, religiously following the plan, and I went down 74 pounds in 6 months. In fact, being heavy my whole life, this was the first diet that ever worked. It was very expensive (and at the time I took advantage of a credit program they offered) but it was worth it.

I plan on doing it again since I have gained quite a bit of it back, but it has been at least 6 years and I kept most of it off the whole time. I actually found this page because I was planning on doing it on my own and I was hoping to find information on the diet since I can't find my original diet book.

Do you think it is the supplements that aid tremendously in the significant weight loss?? It seems to me that the diet alone should work, but with the supplements it boosts the weight loss up! Thoughts???

Trekholic....I was so lethargic when I first started the actual diet but since I didn't join the QWL and receive the "real" program I wasn't sure if I was doing it right. I haven't ordered any of the bars yet as I live in AZ and they won't make it in the mail. I did purchase some Lean For Life ones in CA. that have the same amt. of protein & carbs. Not sure if I am doing anything right.

I actually lost 2 pounds this week, but still have headaches and not enough energy to knock out a good bike ride. I can barely go 10 miles vs. the 40 miles I normally do.

I've set up a yahoo group for anybody doing the Quick Weight Loss Clinic Home Program. The group is intended for support and exchange of tips, etc. It is not officially affiliated with QWLC. Come join us!

Good question from DPL FLA. I too have headaches, but no chills. The supplements are NOT made from particularly healthy stuff. I would NOT have purchased any if I had taken the time to read the labels....yeech! I dropped 4.4 lbs on the cleansing phase and gained 2 pounds in 2 weeks with the addition of the supplements. I have not cheated or even looked cross-eyed at a brownie. The counselors say that my body is adjusting...
So far; not impressed with the plan, cost or ingredients of the supplements and the counselors that don??t listen and blow you off to go sell another client. Do your research?I??ll post again if I begin to drop weight rather than gain it.

Okay, So, an update... I have now been on the program for 12.5 weeks - since June 1st. So far, i have lost about 40 lbs!
I find the diet to be very managable. I like the supplements. Its too bad it is expensive, but for me with 127 to lose. Its worth it. -Stuart florida

Could somebody answer a couple of Q's?

What is or is not allowed from: condiments like ketchup, mustard, low fat salad dressings, salad sprays, salsa, grilling spices?

Any artificial sweetener okay?

What about dairy? I am waiting on delivery of home program. The lady said they do have dairy on diet, but I can't find info on that to start diet now.

Are diet soft drinks allowed? How about fat free half and half for coffee? Other diet drinks like Crystal Lite?

Thanks for all the helpful posts here!

Been on it faithfully for 5 weeks and am struggling to lose weight. Have over $1000 invested into it already and it costs @ $300 a month in products to keep going. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
