BACKGROUNDBACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

Adipex Phentermine (Adipex P) diet pill is a prescription diet pill that is used to help people lose weight who are obese (have a Body Mass Index of 30 or higher) or have serious health risks due to their size. It is more commonly known by the brand name Phentermine. It works as an appetite suppressant. It is taken in conjunction with certain food requirements and an exercise program. Adipex P is only used for a few weeks (less than 12 weeks) since its effectiveness decreases with prolonged use.

The drug is taken one time each day either in the morning or 10 hours before bedtime, because of its known effects of interrupting sleep.

You should take Adipex P only and exactly how it was directed to you by your physician.

I started taking the pills 09/28/10. My beginning weight was 210 lbs and I'm only 5'0. When I went back for my 1st month check up I was shocked to see that I had lost 14 lbs. I started off with taking 1/2 pill for the 1st two days and then onto 1 pill. I also received a shot (B-12) for energy. I along with 4 sisters went to Disney on my 2nd day and I couldn't believe how much energy that I had. I was out running them. We visited 4 parks in one day and I had totally forgotten to eat. I would get to feeling a litle different and that is when I realized that I hadn't eaten. My docter recommended me to eat a Special K bar 1st thing in the moring (around 5:30 since I get up so early) and then around 8:00 I would take my pill. He sd to eat a salad or soup and/or sandwich. For dinner only eat fish, beef or chicken. Eat lots of fruit & vegetables. He said to avoid pasta, rice, mayonnaise, potatoes. Drink plenty of water. He highly recommended me to throw all of my snacks away. He gave me several recipes to try such a salad dressing & smoothies. So far I am excited. He gave my the goals to shoot for and he also wants me to start Zumba (an exercise class) Of course there was more info given. I was also advised that after so long they may have to go up to 1 1/2 pills if and when my body gets to a stopping pt when no progress is being made. I can't wait to see the end results.

Hoping someone can help me. I started Adipex a week ago. I take a 1/2 pill 2xs daily. I am not loosing anything struggling not to eat and still have no energy. I am afraid to increase to whole pill 2xs a day. I noticed that several people said that they take 1 pill once a day. Wondering if I should change the way I take. Please help if you have any suggestions.

I take 1/2 a pill once a day...One pill made me to jittery and I would have heart palpatations, which was a little scary for me.

My weight was 194 when I started..I Lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks (182 now). I ate a lot less and sometimes forgot to eat...I'd feel a little fuzzy and at that time realized i had not eaten anything, or had not eaten since that morning..I had more energy and seemed to be able to concentrate more at work. I've maintained the 12 pounds I've lost for over a month now..and plan to start back on the medication today, using only 1/2 of a 1/2 because I want to feel as natural as possible while losing the weight. My doctor prescribed the medication after I asked for help because of the risk of diabetes. I have RA and I'm on medication for high blood pressure, I also have a H. Hernia..I believe a lot of my conditions will be history once i get down to a normal weight...I'm 5'2 and would like to get down to about 135-145

I just started taking Adipex on Monday. I definitely don't feel as hungry. I am a little jittery when it kicks in. I will honestly post my results once they start. I hope what I'm reading from everyone else is factual & true.

I started taking Adipex-P around May of last year. I was 33 yrs old and 277lbs and would have kept gaining if it was not for this pill and lack of motivation. I talked to my doctor and set up an appointment to have some tests done to start taking the drug.

Prior to the appointment I had absolutely no desire to go to the gym. I was lazy and all I did was eat, sleep and go to work. The doctor asked me what I was currently doing as far as diet and exercise to better myself and my response was that I wasn??t planning on doing anything different until I started taking the pill. So I went on to explain that I was setting a goal of going to the gym a minimum of 4 days a week and a better diet with an overall goal of reaching 220lbs. I could tell by his expression that he was skeptical as to how much I was going to actually put into my plan, which I??m the type of person that feeds off of that?

DISCLAIMER: Do NOT take this pill to lose weight as a short term solution for being FAT. Take this pill only when you are ready to make a lifestyle change, which includes the mindset that your diet and exercise program is for life and not just 6 months.

Present day (March 1, 2010) and I weight 215 lbs losing 62lbs and I owe it all to Adipex for the boost. Just so I??m clear, it??s not just the pill that makes you lose weight because it??s just the catalyst for controlling hunger while you put the hard work and sweat into your body. It allows you to prepare and make the necessary changes for a maintainable diet an exercise program without the pill.

AGAIN think ??Lifestyle? change. I get asked if I have cheat days and right away without hesitation say, ??Why should I.? The things I have chosen to be part of my diet are what I like eating everyday and I feel are doable in an everyday program. Why should I test myself, someone who loves to eat, with temptation of fatty foods? That??s the crap that got me to where I was 9 months ago

There have been two other guys I work with that went on the pill the same time I did and their results were, well there is no results. They took the pill thinking it was a miracle solution to losing weight, which they both lost about 10-15 pounds at the start. Both were unwilling to continue with a regular exercise program and have put back on the weight and then some. Both think that just because the food is sitting in front of them, they have to eat it because it??s this special occasion or that one. Then again I knew they were going to fail before they started just because of their goals and attitude.

LIFESTYLE CHANGE ?? Accept it or just save your money.

I'm 180lbs now and I would love to at about 140lbs by this summer. Do you think this is a realistic goal? Oh yeah, I'm a 29 year old female and 5'4.

I do not have an appetite and I've started a moderate exercise program. It's working great for me. I take the tablet in the morning when I wake up and 30 minutes later I have breakfast.
