Wholly Guacamole Salsas Are Both Healthy and Irresistible

On the wake of my birthday week, I’m still eating like a queen. Sunday kicked off an all-day meal fest that started with breakfast and ended with an full-on taco bar at our place. The taco theme was my request as I love absolutely adore Mexican food.

The running joke around the office this week has been that, while my taco bar birthday party has come and gone, the leftovers have supplied my lunch all week long. Monday: Taco salad with beef. Tuesday: Taco salad with refried beans. You get the idea. “Tacos for lunch again today! What a surprise!”

While this may sound rather ‘blah’ to some, I could happily eat Mexican food every day, so this week’s menu has actually been quite dreamy. And what made the deal even sweeter was having a healthy serving of guacamole and salsa with each dish.

Wholly Guacamole – one of our favorite healthy convenience food companies – recently shipped us a generous sampling of their new Wholly Salsas and we couldn’t wait to dig in. My two favorites from the pack? The Avocado Verde and Pineapple.

Much like their guacamole, Wholly Salsas are made with premium, fresh ingredients you can trust. And the flavors are so bold and delicious they could easily pass off as homemade, only better.

The Wholly Pineapple Salsa is more sweet than spicy and is comprised of a delicious mix of pineapple, red onion, cilantro and jalapeno. Unexpected flavors like ginger puree and roasted red bell pepper give it a unique flavor that pairs perfectly with salty blue corn chips or spicy tacos. One 2 Tablespoon serving contains 15 calories, no fat, 25 mg of sodium, 4 grams of carbohydrates and 3 grams of sugar.

Although the pineapple was tasty, my absolute favorite was the Avocado Verde, which is a blend of traditional Mexican green salsa and creamy avocado. This flavorful dip had all of the components of guacamole and fresh green salsa, which probably explains why my friends and I couldn’t get enough of the stuff and ate the entire container in one sitting! One 2 Tablespoons serving contains 25 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, 135 mg of sodium, 2 grams of carbohydrates and 1 gram of sugar.

Wholly Salsas are available in a variety of flavors including red pepper mango, guacamole and spicy pico, and classic mild, medium and hot. Look for them at your local grocery stores for a delicious and healthy treat that you can feel good about serving to your family. These will definitely be a mainstay in our households, as well as our weekly leftover taco lunches that will be making frequent appearances in our office throughout the summer (if I’m lucky).
