Who can forget their first experience watching ‘American Pie’ back in 1999? Yes, 1999. That’s how long this popular, sometimes scandalous movie series has followed the misadventures and awkward sexual encounters of its lovable cast. 

And since it’s been nearly nine years since the third installment – ‘American Wedding’ – Pie fans have new reason to celebrate as the fourth movie – ‘American Reunion’ – comes to theaters tomorrow.

So in honor of this all-American movie, we’re bringing you the “Five Things We Can Learn from the American Pie Movies” on this eve of the film’s release.

Laughter is good for the soul. The mood of the ‘American Pie’ films isn’t a somber one, and we think that’s a good thing. Need we say more?

If there’s something we can learn from the cast of ‘American Pie’ it’s that satisfying relationships make us happy – Jim and Michelle are a prime example of that. According to Harvard Women’s Health Watch, social connections not only give us pleasure, they also influence our health. People in fulfilling relationships have been shown to be happier, have fewer health problems, and even live longer. So don’t underestimate the power of your friendships, as they can benefit you in the long run.

Eat pie! Just not the way Jim does. Part of leading a healthy lifestyle is indulging once in a while.
