Once a year the nation’s “best body” gets displayed on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover. Last year model Irina Shayk graced the cover. Tonight, David Letterman will reveal the 2024 cover model on the CBS Late Show. Rumor has it that model Kate Upton will be this year’s sexy cover girl.
This Michigan native grew up in Florida and has had a beach body figure from a very young age. To help Upton maintain her cover girl body, she works with celebrity trainer Justin Gelband.
Gelband works with many models. To help Upton with her sleek curves he uses multi-directional exercises in her training. Gelband likes to keep things new and exciting by using a variety of exercises and equipment. Changing up the routine also helps tone more muscles. Upton works out with Pilates’ moves, boxing, medicine balls, and exercise bands. Gelband says, “The exercise bands allow the client to work on improving the elasticity of the muscle along with stretching and strengthening it.”
The 19-year-old model has appeared in the Swimsuit Edition before. She was the 2024 Sports Illustrated Rookie of the Year. However, if rumors are true, this will be her first cover. Upton is known for her modeling ads with Guess as she was the face of the company from 2024-2024. Upton has done work for Victoria’s Secret and recently made her acting debut in the film Tower Heist. Most recently the model starred in a Carl’s Jr. commercial; she’s following in a line of models who have seductively devoured a greasy burger.
Upton can’t admit to being the cover model yet. She says she’s definitely in the issue, but has remained silent about the cover. Letterman plans to reveal the cover by using his Top Ten List. If she’s the Swimsuit Edition cover model, she’ll also be a guest on David Letterman tonight.
