Rob Kardashian Joined Dancing With the Stars to Gain Body Confidence

Now that the cast list has been revealed for season 13 of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, weight loss talk is in full swing.

Each season there is speculation of who might lose significant weight while on the show, and this time around, Rob Kardashian is putting his own hat in the ring. He wants to use his time on the show to get into great shape. When talking about his decision to sign on with the hit TV show, he said, “You probably wouldn’t know it, but I’m the most insecure and overweight I’ve ever been. I’m over 200 pounds, so I want to drop some weight and this will be a great start.”

Dancing isn’t his strong suit though, so he will be working extra hard. He was honest about his abilities and stated, “I’m not a confident dancer at all. And down the road…I don’t want to be that guy who doesn’t dance at his own wedding!”

Dancing With the Stars Returns with Chaz Bono and Rob Kardashian Destined to Lose Weight

Fans of the TV show Dancing with the Stars will be thrilled to know that season 13 is starting on September 19. The new cast has been announced and includes:

Ricki Lake: Ricki Lake is an actress and talk show host. Ricki has a new talk show that will start in the fall of 2012. Her professional dance partner will be Derek Hough.

Ron Artest: Ron Artest is a professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers. His professional dance partner will be Peta Murgatroyd.

Rob Kardashian: Rob Kardashian is the only son of Kris Jenner and the late Robert Kardashian and stars along his famous sisters in the reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians. His professional dance partner will be Cheryl Burke.

Nancy Grace: Nancy Grace is one of television’s most respected legal analysts and a former felony prosecutor. Nancy’s professional dance partner will be Tristan MacManus.

Ricki Lake Finds Weight Loss Motivation by Signing on for Dancing With the Stars

Ricki Lake is a celebrity known as much for her up and down weight battles as her talk show and acting talents. Ricki has been revealed as a contestant on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars and she appears to be keeping her weight in check from recent photos. Ricki says that she agreed to do the show after being inspired by Kirstie Alley during the previous season – rightfully so since Kirstie managed to shed 38 inches from her body over a 12 week period.

Although Ricki looks great, she says that she hasn’t been maintaining her weight. She fell in love last year and she admits that she’s “gone on a love binge” and hasn’t been hitting the gym like she usually does. Ricki may have been missing her gym time, but now that she’s on Dancing With The Stars, she won’t have any trouble getting in a very rigorous workout everyday to the tune of about six hours. Contestants on Dancing With The Stars train hard and for several hours each day to master their routines.

Dancing with the Stars Contestants Lose Weight, Gain New Life Perspective

Each season, we watch contestants on Dancing with the Stars undergo major transformations and this season was no different. Kendra Wilkinson may not have won the competition but she did win back her pre-baby body and a whole new perspective on life.

Before DWTS, Wilkinson was somewhere between a size two and four. By no stretch of the term was she overweight, but she hadn’t quite reclaimed her Playboy physique. Wilkinson is happy to report that after competing on DWTS, she’s back to a size zero. Most well-known as the sporty ex-girlfriend of Hugh Hefner from Girls Next Door, Wilkinson has always been very active. In 2009, when she had her son with husband Hank Baskett , she gained a whopping 60 pounds (don’t worry Kendra, you’re not the only one in that boat!)

As many of us know, losing 60 pounds isn’t easily done. Wilkinson credits her freshly-sculpted body to a combination of Ab Cuts, dancing and a diet of natural foods, rich in fruits and vegetables.

Kirstie Alley Down 38 Inches Since her Dancing Debut

Actress Kirstie Alley has been known for years as one of the many celebrities that has battled her weight publicly. Since starting on the hit show Dancing with the Stars, Alley’s appearance has changed dramatically.

Each week the audience and judges on the show noticed that she was losing weight. Alley wanted to make sure she was continuing to go down in size, but she admits she didn’t have a specific goal in mind. After two and a half months on the show, the final numbers on Alley’s changing body were revealed. In the final episode of the show, Alley was to reprise the dance she performed on the season premiere. This means she had to wear her original costume. After extensive alterations to her dress, it was revealed that Alley’s costume had to be taken in an amazing total of 38 inches.
