How Maria Menounos Stays Fit After Dancing With the Stars

Maria Menounos has recently been making airwaves with her impressive moves on Dancing With the Stars (DWTS). And despite suffering two broken ribs during this season’s performances, she continued to be a strong contendor on the show before Tuesday night’s elimination. But Menounos says being voted off the show won’t stop her from keeping her body in tip-top shape.

Menounos is usually in the public eye as the host of “Entertainment Tonight,” but she’s also found fame as an actress. Because she’s constantly in the limelight, her body must be toned and fit. During DWTS, she practiced routines for up to five hours. But before she ever signed up for the show, she already managed a busy schedule which required her to work hard to stay in shape.

Unlike most celebrities, Menounos tries to steer clear of crazy diets. She eats healthy and has a regular exercise routine. Snacking is a number one rule for this celebrity, and a few of her favorites include veggies, fruits, Greek yogurt, and almonds. Due to her hectic agenda, she tries to snack a few times throughout the day. Perhaps her Greek heritage started her love for veggies and fruits.

Jaleel White Already Drops 13 Pounds from Dancing With the Stars

A lot of celebrities sign up for Dancing With the Stars with the hopes of losing weight from the hours and hours of dance practice, but for some, it’s just a pleasant, unplanned side effect.

Jaleel White was one of those celebs that didn’t plan on losing weight while competing on Dancing With the Stars, but there just wasn’t any way around it. White, famous for his role as nerdy Erkel on Family Matters told Us Weekly after his Monday’s performace that he’s already lost 13 pounds since rehearsals began earlier this year. The actor, 35, proudly exclaimed, “I’m like a buck sixty-nine!”

At 5-foot-10, White was hardly overweight to begin with, but spending hours in the dance studio helped the actor kick up his fitness routine a notch. “You’re dripping in sweat. You keep doing intervals of 30 minutes or 40 minutes, and you grab a quick snack and go back at it,” he explained. “I can pop a sweat so quickly now. It’s new to me. It’s ridiculous!”

White has also noticed another positive change: his energy level is up. You would think dancing all day would leave him exhausted, but quite the contrary.

“I feel in better shape than I have been since I was in college,” he said. “It sucks because I want to go out and play basketball but I have no time. I want to see what my energy is like and what I can do on the basketball court now, because at 35, trust me, there is a difference between a 35-year-old and a 24-year-old on the basketball court.”

The New Dancing With the Stars Cast is the Show’s Fittest Yet

The newest cast of celebrities to join Dancing With the Stars was announced this week. They seem like a pretty likable bunch, not to mention fit and healthy.

Actors, pro athletes, and singers make up this all-star cast who will start burning up ABC’s dance floor Monday, March 19. The line-up includes Melissa Gilbert, Sherri Shepherd, Martina Navratilova, Maria Menounos, Gladys Knight, Jaleel White, Donald Driver, Roshon Fegan, Gavin Degraw and Jack Wagner.

In seasons past, there were always one or two footloose contestants who benefited from the extreme calorie burn that came with training and performing their weekly dance competition. Kirstie Alley, Marie Osmond, and even Bachelor’s Jake Pavelka have credited the show with helping them lose weight. Looking at this cast, this season may be more about maintenance than weight loss.

Rob Kardashian Joined Dancing With the Stars to Gain Body Confidence

Now that the cast list has been revealed for season 13 of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, weight loss talk is in full swing.

Each season there is speculation of who might lose significant weight while on the show, and this time around, Rob Kardashian is putting his own hat in the ring. He wants to use his time on the show to get into great shape. When talking about his decision to sign on with the hit TV show, he said, “You probably wouldn’t know it, but I’m the most insecure and overweight I’ve ever been. I’m over 200 pounds, so I want to drop some weight and this will be a great start.”

Dancing isn’t his strong suit though, so he will be working extra hard. He was honest about his abilities and stated, “I’m not a confident dancer at all. And down the road…I don’t want to be that guy who doesn’t dance at his own wedding!”

Dancing With the Stars Returns with Chaz Bono and Rob Kardashian Destined to Lose Weight

Fans of the TV show Dancing with the Stars will be thrilled to know that season 13 is starting on September 19. The new cast has been announced and includes:

Ricki Lake: Ricki Lake is an actress and talk show host. Ricki has a new talk show that will start in the fall of 2012. Her professional dance partner will be Derek Hough.

Ron Artest: Ron Artest is a professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers. His professional dance partner will be Peta Murgatroyd.

Rob Kardashian: Rob Kardashian is the only son of Kris Jenner and the late Robert Kardashian and stars along his famous sisters in the reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians. His professional dance partner will be Cheryl Burke.

Nancy Grace: Nancy Grace is one of television’s most respected legal analysts and a former felony prosecutor. Nancy’s professional dance partner will be Tristan MacManus.
