Dancing With the Stars Brings Major Changes for Contestants

Dancing With the Stars Season 11 premiered on Monday, September 20th, 2010. If you still don’t know, the contestant lineup is as follows:

The talent and dedication on Dancing With the Stars amazes me. Most contestants have to make major lifestyle changes in order to get into shape and build their talent for the show. Audrina Patridge recently spoke about her journey to do just that.

The Hills star has reportedly switched to a higher carb, high protein diet and eats approximately every two hours. It’s true that an abundance of carbohydrates are typically frowned upon in the diet community. The exception to this comes when you’re working your body as hard as she is! Athletes often stock up on carbs in order to fuel their bodies with what they need. She’s nearly given up alcohol (although she still enjoys the occasional glass of wine) and has substantially increased her water intake. These new habits have, no doubt, taken a hit on her social life. She tells OK! Magazine, “I’m focused on dancing, and that’s it.”

Get in Shape Like the Stars of the Emmys

While watching the Emmys this year, I was impressed by how fit and polished the stars looked as they walked the red carpet. Wearing Versace, Carolina Herrera or Donna Karan, walking in front of thousands of cameras, there’s no room for an unfit body to hide. How do they guarantee that every part of their image is smooth and flat, toned and fit and showing to their greatest advantage?

Celebrity trainer Jarett Del Bene, whose clients include Audrina Patridge, The Hills alum Lauren Conrad and Lindsay Lohan, shared many of the secrets that he uses to help whip bodies into shape fast.

Del Bene was quoted in USWeekly as saying, “For the Emmys, some of [celebrities] may have slacked during the summertime because of vacations and due to just having fun. Not everyone can stay consistent…then you do a quick shape up workout plan to get in shape in a matter of three to five weeks.”

Audrina Patridge’s Diet and Fitness Regimen

Audrina Patridge, one of the stars of The Hills, has one of the most enviable young bodies in Hollywood. Her ultra-thin physique raises some eyebrows among those concerned over how celebrity bodies affect young women’s body image perception, Audrina personally attests to following a very healthy lifestyle.
