Introducing the New Weight Watchers Momentum Program

Just in time for New Years, Weight Watchers has recently launched a new program called Momentum to help you lose weight, stay in control of your hunger and keep cravings at bay.

Using the trademarked Weight Watchers Points System, Momentum centers around fueling your body with fiber-rich foods, lean proteins and good fats. Certain foods like those high in fiber keep us feeling full longer because it takes longer for the body to digest them. We fall into problems when we’re dieting when we starve ourselves and let our blood sugar drop. Our knee-jerk reaction then becomes to reach for a quick fix like foods that contain white sugar or refined flours or even the fast-food drive-thru.

The Momentum program prevents this trap by teaching us how to consume meals and snacks that are full of fiber and high in water content. Combined with lean proteins and small amounts of fat, the foods on the Momentum program make us feel full longer and give our body the sustained energy it needs to function without experiencing crashes in energy.

The Momentum program operates just like any other Weight Watchers program from support groups to exercise to weigh-ins. You’ll have the option to follow it online or via meetings. Recipes for certain Momentum dishes like the Italian Turkey Burgers shown here are available online. If you’re interested in starting, contact your local Weight Watchers center or sign-up for Momentum online.

Sounds like WW is copying the Volumetrics Diet way of eating.

i dont think theyre really copying anyone. they are just combining their two programs to promote healthier eating. so instead of just counting points, where technically you could just eat 25 points worth of ice cream, you are eating healthy, filling foods while still counting the points.

WW Works. I dropped 28lbs in 7weeks. I dropped the points value while making sure I was eating enough protien for the day not to lose muscle mass. It Works. I only excersized for 1 1/2 weeks. Sysytem works. It has been 1 year and I still have the weight off. And I eat whatever I want. Dont get me wrong there are weeks that I slow my eating a bit. But I like homemade cookies and we go about 4 nights a week with fresh baked in the house. Lots of water and keep the protien intake up. A MUST……
