America’s Silent Killer – Salt on The Doctors

Tune in this Wednesday, November 24 to The Doctors when the lid is blown off of America’s silent killer – salt.

On the show, you will learn how to take action and join the nationwide movement to Halt the Salt. Plus, The Doctors will reveal what  store bought foods contain the greatest amounts of sodium and you will also learn which of your favorite foods contain too much salt on restaurant menus.

Eating a diet high in sodium has been linked to a number of health risks. Sodium causes your body to hold more water and as a result, you are more susceptible to kidney stones and high blood pressure, among other health problems. This also contributes to water weight and prevents your body from looking, weighing and feeling its best.

In a large study conducted by Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, following a lower salt diet resulted in a 25 percent reduced risk for heart disease and stroke.
