The Fitness Gadgets and Gear Your Workout Can’t Live Without

If there’s one thing I love more than working out, it’s all of the fun gadgets and gear that go along with an active lifestyle. But there are so many different products out there that it can be tough to figure out what’s worth your money. That’s why I’m here…to share with you four of my favorite, can’t-live-without fitness gadgets and gear that will get you motivated and help you take your workouts to the next level!

Garmin Forerunner Running Watches

My number one favorite fitness gadget is my Garmin GPS running watch. When I first started running, I used the Garmin Forerunner 110 and then eventually upgraded to the Garmin 910XT, which is a multi-sport GPS watch (great for triathlon training!). Why do I love Garmins? They are user-friendly and super motivating. All watches track time, distance, and pace. If you purchase a heart-rate monitor with your watch, you’ll also get an accurate read on calories burned! For the casual runner, I recommend either the Garmin Forerunner 10 or the Garmin Forerunner 15. They will help take your running to the next level!

Lululemon’s The Mat

One of my favorite forms of exercise is hot yoga. But if you’re going to take hot yoga classes (or any yoga classes for that matter) you need to have a good yoga mat. I strongly recommend Lululemon’s “The Mat.” It is made out of a moisture-absorbing natural rubber so your hands and feet won’t slip during your Downdog. The Mat is also thick enough that it provides comfortable cushion for your hands, feet, and even head. And my favorite part of The Mat — it includes an antimicrobial layer that helps prevent mold and bacteria!

FitBit One

In my opinion, the FitBit is the ultimate healthy living gadget. The Fit Bit One is an activity tracker that you can easily clip onto your belt or bra or simply hold in your pocket. It tracks steps, stairs climbed, distance traveled, and calories burned. The One can also measure your sleep quality and is equipped with a silent alarm clock (it gently vibrates to wake you up). Plus, it wirelessly syncs with your computer and/or smartphone so that you can review your stats and track progress. Whether you are a fitness junkie or resident couch potato, the FitBit One will motivate and encourage you to live a more active and healthy life.

GRID Foam Roller

The GRID Foam Roller is an absolute must for anyone who lives an active lifestyle. This foam roller is the ultimate self-massage tool that will help you work out knots and loosen up tight muscles. The GRID is different from your typical foam roller because it has a three-dimensional surface that helps restore blood flow and oxygen to your muscles (which will help prevent injury!).  It is also firmer than most foam rollers and is travel-friendly. This handy little tool will have you feeling great and moving better!
