Gym Music Playlist of the Week: Valentine’s Day Workout Mix

Maybe you don’t love to exercise, but with the Valentine’s Day holiday just around the corner, love for someone else just might be on your mind. With chocolates and a romantic dinner on the horizon, why not consider a brisk stroll with your husband, wife, girlfriend or boyfriend?

While popular music usually highlights unrequited love, I’ve done my best to put together a list of songs that straddle the line of heartfelt emotions while still not going so far into the gushy sentiment that it’s not inspiring enough to work out to.

1. Golden Earring – Radar Love

When she gets lonely and the longing gets too much
She sends a cable coming in from above
We don’t need no phone at all
We’ve got a thing that’s called radar love
We’ve got a wave in the air, radar love

2. The Replacements – Valentine

If you were a pill, I’d take a handful at my will
And I’d knock you back with something sweet and strong

3. Phil Collins – Two Hearts

Two hearts, believing in just one mind
Beating together till the end of time
You know we’re two hearts believing in just one mind
Together forever till the end of time

4. Todd Rundgren – I Saw The Light

I tried to run, though I knew it wouldn’t help me none
‘Cause I couldn’t ever love no one, or so I said
But my feelings for you are just something I never knew
Til I saw the light in your eyes

5. Modern English – I Melt With You

I’ll stop the world and melt with you
You’ve seen the difference and
It’s getting better all the time
There’s nothing you and I won’t do
I’ll stop the world and melt with you

6. Counting Crows – Accidentally In Love

Come on, Come on
Move a little closer
Come on, Come on
I want to hear you whisper
Come on, Come on
Settle down inside my love

7. Nada Surf – Always Love

Always love
Hate will get you everytime
Always love
Don’t wait ’til the finish line

8. Queen – Crazy Little Thing Called Love

There goes my baby
She knows how to rock and roll
She drives me crazy
She gives me hot and cold fever
Then she leaves me in a cool, cool sweat

… and what mix of love songs would be complete without Air Supply. Cool off to this one:

9. Air Supply – Lost In Love
