Nutrition in the 1950s

"Eat for Health"

This film from 1954 was created by Encyclopaedia Britannica Films to teach children about how to eat a balanced diet. "Eat for Health" outlines five food groups that children should eat every day: vegetables, fruits, meats and eggs, milk and cheese, bread and butter. We still have five food groups today, but bread and butter certainly isn't one of them!

Ralph learns the importance of eating a wide variety of foods, and not to eat candy bars before dinner.
