Courtney's Summer Challenge: Week 1

Kick-off your summer with Courtney and some necessary "me" time.

Welcome to the kick-off week of Courtney's Summer Challenge! Your challenge this week: "Take some time for yourself and just move."

Courtney wants to see you take a walk each day this week, and she reminds that a week has seven days in it! She doesn't care how long or how far, just that you do it. She also reminds that this "me" time is so important, and that you can't take care of others unless you're taking care of yourself first.

Week 1 Prize: DIR T-Shirt and Free Wholly Guacamole (Winner: ALYSSA)

Participate in the challenge by posting below. It could be your progress, success, hurdles, or even encouragement for other participants. We'll draw one winner to receive a shirt and some tasty guac, announced week 2.

I love Courtney's words of encouragment.

I'm trying to train for my first 5k run. I've been doing very well up until last week when I completely got overwhelmed with life. As a single mom of a teenager boy, I don't get too much time to myself except to exercise at 5:30am every morning. Unfortunately I did something to my back that I've been seeing a doctor for and he can't figure out at this point what is wrong but I still try to press through the pain and get to the gym. I honestly feel like that is the only place I feel good. Listening to my music and moving.

I wish everyone the best of luck this week and keep on truckin!

Sarah M.

My week starts on Sunday since that's when I weigh in at Weight Watchers. So, Sunday I walked a mile in 20 minutes on my treadmill. Monday I did my first Bob Harper Kettle bell exercise DVD with a 10lb Kettle Bell. Today, I am getting ready to do another DVD with my 5 year old. Its a little too hot here to take the 5 year old and twin 14 month olds out, so we'll workout indoors! Thanks Courtney!
