Biggest Loser Resort's Sharon Reed

Learn more about the resort's fitness program.

If you go to the Biggest Loser Resort in Utah expecting a "Jillian Michaels-type" beating, believe that you'll get it. Our editor, Brandi Koskie, spent a week at the Utah location in September and had the pleasure of a few fitness-friendly beatings from Sharon Reed, the fitness director for the resort. With the resort since its inception more than seven years ago, she talks here about the evolution of the program, what works, why they approach fitness the way they do, and what guests can expect. Much like her show counterpart, she's lean, politely mean, and will lead guests through some of the hardest, and most rewarding, workouts they've ever attempted. I went to Biggest Loser at Fitness Ridge in April 2010. I had a great time. It's not 100% like the show (and I didn't expect it to be). You will not have Jillian and Bob, but you will have Nicole, Sharon, Tiffany, and Robin who are just as good as Jillian and Bob. They will push you beyond your limits - because YOU CAN! I highly recommend Fitness Ridge to people of all fitness levels. There is definitely something there for everyone!!

The BL@FR is like the show, however not every person there needs to drop pounds. I have been for 3 different weeks and each time had a wonderful time, and lost 7 pounds each week. Sharon, Robin, Nicole, Tiffany and Gretchen are so motivating that you want to push beyond your limits and the feeling of accomplishment is amazing. It is a wonderful program! I am heading back in March, May and July......

I disagree with the blogger who says it NOT like the biggest loser. It IS everything they say it is. Sharon is awesome and motivating, the trainers are top notch and encourage you the whole time. I should know, I was there for t 8 weeks and lost 50 lbs! I plan on going back to get back into the swing of things. Life sure can get in the way. Great place, if you thinking its not like the biggest loser think again. I met quite a few of the celebs there and they all said the same thing....the only difference is, the food here is better!

ITS NOT THE BIGGEST LOSER WORKOUT! The workout are NOT like what we see on the Biggest Loser! I have a better trainer right here in my own back yard but spent thousands to get a Jillian & Bob esq workout! Disappointing to say the least. However, go for the hiking experience - alone that is priceless!
