Austin Andrews Biggest Loser Elimination Interview

He lost more than 160 pounds during Biggest Loser 11.

Austin just narrowly missed making the cut as a finalist for season 11. After losing 161 pounds in 19 weeks on the Biggest Loser Ranch, Austin Andrews still went home a winner. The 21-year-old said he gained 100 pounds between the ages of 10 and 14, weight he never lost, and only added to. That was until he got the chance of a lifetime and joined the BL11 cast. Austin was a powerhouse player from the start. Often staying in the background below the radar, he was fighting and working harder than most. It was a disappointing one-pound loss during week 19 that ultimately sent Austin home, even a one-pound advantage couldn't save him. With mere weeks left until the live finale and final weigh in, Austin says he's pounding out his own version of a last chance workout at home, which involves a Muay Thai bootcamp, workouts with a trainer, and spinning. "I'm so much more focused when in the mode of 'this is it!", he told us. In our interview, Austin also discusses his first "ah-ha" moment at the ranch, the moment that defined his transition from boyhood to manhood. It was during week four during an army-crawl training session with Brett. Austin says he was paired with Justin and started to "check-out, glaze over, and go through the motions" like he usually did during a workout. That's when Justin yelled "Don't you dare check out of this!" and brought Austin back to reality and he knew he had to give the moment all he had.
