About Me:

I started at 198 in September 2008, before a Medifast like program run by a local clinic. Since them I've lost 50lbs with another 10-15 more to lose. I have transitioned back to food and am looking for ways to maintain on a plan that I can do long term.

The goals I'm working toward:

  • Lose 10lbs
  • Maintain the losses I have had
  • finish a half marathon

I haven't felt comfortable with my weight since:

About 2 years ago, when I reached my max of 215lbs. My aunt, who functioned as my grandma, died suddenly of a painful illness around that time. I maintained for a year but couldn't loss due to motivation, stress and grief that stood in the way.

My favorite healthy food:

fish
yogurt, especially Greek style
fruit of all kinds
broccoli
high protein/low carb shakes & bars for snack

My guiltiest pleasure:

Greek restaurant food
Mexican food
Good quality Chocolates
Fries
Fried chicken

I'm inspired to live a healthy life because:

I don't want obesity related diseases.
I want to be the old lady lapping the youngins' at the weekend 5K in 20 years when I am 60

Healthy habits that work for me:

  • Running
  • Schedule meals & snacks
  • Stand up for myself instead of eating my anger

My favorite activity at the gym is:

Staying out of the gym & running on the bike path

Combo strength/ aerobics intervall class if I do go to the gym

The accomplishments I'm most proud of:

  • I finished a 18 mile metric marathon- at 210lbs
