Although some who follow the Master Cleanse Diet report feeling more energized, having clearer skin and clearer vision, there's no scientific research to show if the diet actually rids the body of toxins. While on the Master Cleanse, which is essentially a form of fast, dieters subsist on a concoction of lemon juice, cayenne pepper, maple syrup and water. Dieters will lose weight for as long as they can stay on the all-liquid regime, which is recommended for 10 to 45 days.
