Saturday Morning Drills: Yoga for Holiday Stress Relief

Start by sitting on the floor with your legs out in front of you. Bend your knees with your feet flat on the ground, and then position your left leg on the ground so your knee is touching the floor and your left foot is under your right leg. You will then step your right foot over your left leg so your foot is flat on the ground. Your right knee should then be pointing toward the ceiling while your left knee is still on the ground.

Next, exhale while twisting your torso toward the inside of your right thigh.

Hands: Your right hand will be on the ground, palm facing down, next to your right hip while pressing against the floor. Place your left elbow on the outside of your right thigh so your hand is pointing toward the ceiling.

Now, turn your head to the right of your body. Hold this position for 30 seconds to one minute while taking slow, deep breaths. Each time you inhale, try to twist your torso to the right a little more. Once this is complete, switch legs for the other side.
