Capoeira is one of the oldest forms of exercise in the world. Dating back to the 16th century, this form of “Brazilian Dance Fighting” was actually used by slaves as a way to hide their self defense training from their owners. Today the dance fighting is used to activate superior upper body strength as there are so many moves on the hands, like handstands. The dance improves balance and builds muscle. Capoeira burns about 500 calories an hour.
