Number 4 Diet: Acai

Acai might be down from the number-two position last year, but it's still one of the most buzzed about trends in dieting. Two years ago, acai appeared on the scene and people have been clamoring for its exotic weight loss benefits ever since. The thing is, there's nothing exotic or beneficial about it, outside of basic nutrition. This berry comes from Brazil, and while we'll grant that consuming this or any other fruit or berry will give your body loads of vitamins and minerals, it is not responsible for any sort of lasting weight loss. Many supplement manufacturers sell pills bearing the acai name, but it's usually a synthetic version or buried so deep in the ingredients list that you can hardly call it acai. This is one that's popular by accident, and worth doing your research for first.
