Most Popular Diets for 2011

Number 12: Baby Food Diet

The idea strikes us as odd, too, but to millions of women it's become the saving grace in their efforts to lose weight. Down by six points from last year, the Baby Food Diet is still on the tip of everyone's tongue, with purees that are easily consumed with very little calories.

The pros: The food can be organic, controlled portions, variety in flavors, and it can be taken on the run.

The cons: Purees lack essential fibers that adults need, especially to feel full. It can also be costly, as one small three-ounce serving, hardly enough to satisfy an adult, can cost one dollar. Down several of those jars a day and you'll hit your budget hard.

Some experts advise supplementing with baby food, rather than making it the focal point of a diet. The recommendation is to forgo other snacks and eat your favorite baby food variety instead.
