Gardening is a great way to get a total body workout. Thirty minutes of digging and planting can burn 315 calories as you work your arms, back, stomach and calves. Weeding will burn about 115 calories per 30 minutes. If you stand up and sit down repeatedly, you'll be working your legs. Be sure not to spend too much time stooped over, which can lead to back pain. Instead, try to stay seated with your spine as straight as possible while you work.

Plus, being outdoors can lift your mood. Just remember to wear sunscreen!
