Which probiotics-yogurt to use on The 17 Day Diet?

Julie asked this question May 12th, 2011 10:11 am

I LOVE this diet. I feel great already and I am only on the 5th day! My question is regarding yogurt as in the book it says we can have low-calorie, low-fat, no sugar yogurt. I have been using Kefir to make smoothies and find it rather expensive and it goes quick. I found the Source yogurt in the grocery store and it says it has low-calories, no-fat, and no added sugar (except what is in the fruit). Is this alright to use? I don't want to make any mistakes because things are going so well! Thank you :)

Couple options here. One is to stick with a Greek yogurt. You can usually buy this in a larger/bulk container, thus giving you plenty and saving you money. Greek yogurt is incredibly low in calories, and there is always a non-fat option available. Because it's dairy, it will naturally have some sugar in it (lactose), so read the labels carefully and choose one without any added sugar. Chobani and Fage are great Greek yogurt brands. The other choice is to make your own. We found this great recipe and tutorial over at Happy Simple Living.
