Should I change intensity of dancing for fitness?

Christine asked this question Apr 11th, 2012 3:08 pm

I understand why its important to switch your workouts every couple of months. Does dancing apply to this?

Im thinking its like running, switch up intensities, add resistance, etc. Take the Booty Barre DVDs. If you are doing them 3 times a week, wouldn't your body get used to doing it after a while? Do you recommend switching between your 3 BB DVDs? Or keep it up and every once in a while, stop doing BB and do something else?

I feel you should rotate your workouts as I do. I still teach Booty Barre three times a week and on the off days I do Pilates or Strength training plus run to get my cardio in. Variety is the best so that it keeps your body challenged. However, I feel Booty Barre never get's easier because as you learn to do it correctly with practice it gets more challenging. Good luck and let us know how you're getting on :-)
