Only drink green tea on The 17 Day Diet?

Stephenie Bowen asked this question Mar 10th, 2011 8:23 pm

I really want to try this but I recently tried Green tea and didn't really like it, and I was hoping I would too, so other then water is there anything else I would be able to drink?
Water tastes not so nice with food.

Try Lipton green tea bags. I think it tastes better than other green teas.

It's hard to drink it. But just try only leaving the tea bag in for a minute. It wont be so strong then

I have been buying the Luzianne Green Tea brewable Tea bags. I make just like my regular brewed tea, except I use 2 green tea bags to 1 reg decaf tea bag. Tastes like reg tea - love it!

Hi Stephenie-

I spoke with Dr. Mike Moreno this week, author of The 17 Day Diet, about this very question. His response was:

"This seems to be the bane of everyone's complaints," says Dr. Mike. If the green tea isn't agreeing with you (he cites taste and constipation as common problems), he recommends visiting your health food store to find a supplement. If you can handle one cup a day, then supplement with the capsules for the other two.

In his cd that i bought, they said drinking cranberry juice will do the same thing. Dilute it 4-1, or 5-1

Start out with three regular tea bags and one green bags and then next time to half and half and then eventually at least go to three green tea bags and just one regular tea bag. I switched my family to half and half green tea and regular tea several years ago by doing it this way over time and NO ONE in my house even noticed!!! I did the same thing with milk from 2 percent to one percent by slowly switching them.

Try unsweetened cold green tea from Trader Joes. Sweetened with Stevia it's really quite good. I'm not a fan of hot green tea

Constant Comment tea offers a green tea too. It has a really nice spice/orange flavor and with a little truvia sweetener is nice both hot and cold.

Can you use flavored green teas or does it have to be strictly green tea?

Try Tazo green tea. The Zen green is great and so is the ice tea that you can make by the pitcher.

When drinking water, add lemons, oranges, limes, cucumbers anything you like to add flavor. Look online for detox recipes for water. It really helps.

Wegmans sells a very good green tea, their label, that tastes very authentic to Japaneese green tea. Delicious! Called JUST TEA in a 16-20 oz bottle
