Diets in Review Question

Is the 17 day diet healthy for the whole family, inculding children?

Nerissa asked this question Jul 6th, 2011 11:34 am

I am considering this diet for myself, and possibly my family. I am looking for a healthy eating lifestyle to put my entire family on, but my husband and children are not in need of losing weight. I only nee to lose about 25 pounds myself. Is this diet safe for the whole family, including children?

The 17 Day Diet certainly advocates a healthy lifestyle. While many of the recipes can be served to the whole, family including children, I would not recommend any sort of regimented weight-loss program for children. If you are concerned about your child's weight, it's best to consult with a pediatrician.

How old are your children? Kids naturally need to eat a lot of calories b/c they burn them. If you have children who are not fully grown, I wouldn't. I would make the 17 day diet meals but add a little something extra to you kid's meals.
