"Old fashioned" diet and exercise will you quickly help you shed those last five pounds. While a healthy rate of weight loss is about two pounds per week, an extra week of work will ensure you do it safely. You'll want to exercise most days of the week using cardio and strength training, and watch your caloric intake (use our daily caloric intake calculator) of a balanced diet made of whole grains, lean proteins, fruits and vegetables and plenty of water. Exercise must be a regular activity in your day even after the week is up if you want to continue to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight. Exercise also builds your energy and increases your metabolism, and both help make your weight loss endeavor more successful.
