Diets in Review Question

How do you restore your ability to do Yoga after an injury?

Cissie Blackburn asked this question Jan 17th, 2012 4:01 am

Loving the feeling of the complete Sun Salutation but after last July and surgery on my left wrist because of injury while doing yoga has left me very apprehensive. I am in my late 50's and love my body and want to honor it.

Strengthening your forearms that extends your wrist is a necessity, so that you arms can support your total body in a plank which is part of Sun Salutation. You can do this by holding a light dumbbell and flex the wrist up and down. Try 10-15 reps three times. The most important rule is to listen to your body and if it feels wrong then don’t do it; I agree that you do need to honor your body!
