How Can a Teen Lose 5 Lbs. Every Week?

Hi... I'm 17 and overweight. I'd like to lose 5 Lbs a week... that's my new years goal... but dont know how 2 do it.

First, we'd encourage you to visit with your parents and family physician. The recommended rate of weight loss that is healthy and safe for adults in two pounds per week, your goal is obviously more than twice that, and has a teen, you should definitely consult a physician. Any weight loss journey starts by including regular exercise (at least 30 minutes a day most days of the week) and watching calories in a balanced diet that should include whole grains, lean proteins, fruits and vegetables and plenty of water.

That sounds like too much weight to me. I would set a more realistic goal.
