Do Trainers have more rights than members at the gym?

Michelle asked this question May 27th, 2012 9:00 pm

I was at the gym today in the weight room. There was a trainer there talking very loudy to hid client loud enough for the whole room to hear. I found that it was very distracting to my workout. He also asked another member to move because he was training. After his client left I told him that he should think about lowering his voice when in the weight room.and i found it disrespectful. He told me I should think about getting a ipod. He got very defensive with me. I have been training at this gym for 4 years and currently studying to get my CPT. Do trainers have more rights than an average member trying to complete a workout? I had to break set and leave. Please let me know what you think.

Absolutely not, members always have first priority to the equipment and should respect their needs. I personally would have complained to management about the unprofessionalism of the personal trainer.
