If you’re considering popping a pill to relieve the extra holiday weight, you might want to think again. The FDA released a message this week warning consumers to stay away from 28 diet pills using “unlisted and dangerous ingredients,” as well as a “possible carcinogen.”

“These tainted weight loss products pose a great risk to public health because they contain undeclared ingredients and in some cases prescription drugs in amounts that greatly exceed their maximum recommended dosages,” said Dr. Janet Woodcock, director of the FDA drug evaluation center. (more…)
