Provestra Review (UPDATED 2019): Don't Buy Before You Read This!
Expert rating: By Megan (Senior Reviewer) November 16, 2017 Advertising Disclosure
Provestra is a pill for women that claims to increase sexual potency and stamina by balancing out hormones and body chemistry. It claims to have been endorsed by doctors, and to be all-natural.
Each pill contains extracts, mainly from herbs, that are supposed to create the right balance in the body for optimal sexual desire. One of its focuses is to increase natural lubrication, so that women feel more confident going into sex. There are numerous other secondary effects this product is supposed to have, including fewer mood swings, more energy, and fewer hot flashes for women who are going through perimenopause. The company that makes this product promises that it contains no side effects at all, which is quite a claim.
For women whose libido has been hampered by menopause, stress, or even a natural hormone imbalance, the supplement we recommend is a pill called Libitrinex. Each capsule is specially formulated with natural herbal extracts to improve hormonal output, promote arousal, and give women more pleasure during sex. Provestra INGREDIENTS AND SIDE EFFECTS
Provestra has a large list of ingredients:
|L-Arginine||Ginseng Extract||Black Cohosh||Ginger Root||Calcium|
|Theobromine||Ginkgo Biloba||Red Raspberry||Valerian Root||Folic Acid|
L-Arginine: A compound commonly found in foods like dairy and wheat, it has the ability to support good cardiovascular health, and in the case of supplements like Provestra, to help blood flow to the genitals. It does this by converting into nitric oxide in the blood, which can widen blood vessels.
Black Cohosh: In traditional Native American medicine this plant was used as a medicine for treating problems with menstrual health, including menses and menopause. It supposedly does this by regulating hormones, and can thus have an effect on the sex drive.
Damiana: A plant that grows in several parts of Central America, the extract of this herb is used in traditional medicine as a method of increasing sexual desire in women and men.
Kudzu: This is a vine whose extract has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat a number of different symptoms, including problems with circulation, the stomach, dizziness, and nausea. There is “insufficient evidence” for these claims, however, and there are possible side effects of ingesting kudzu root, including:
- Liver damage, allergic reactions
Ginseng: An herb native to parts of Korea and China, it has been used in traditional medicine as a way to stimulate sexual arousal in men and women, and has been used to increase performance and physical stamina in athletes as well.
Valerian: This plant is used as a natural muscle relaxant, which can help people sleep better and can reduce cramps.
Ginkgo Biloba: This tree is mainly found in parts of Asia, and is used to create natural remedies for sexual performance problems. It is also used to to improve circulatory function.
Provestra QUALITY OF INGREDIENTS
Provestra has a large list of ingredients that are supposed to all contribute to better sexual health, including a large amount of vitamins and minerals that are particularly useful to women. Some of the ingredients are good, and the company claims that they are sourced from the same GMP-certified sources that are used for supplements made by larger companies like Rite Aid, Albertsons, and Safeway.
The inclusion of kudzu root could be a bit of a problem, in spite of some of these other ingredients. Kudzu is not proven in any sort of clinical trials to work to improve circulation – presumably it’s meant to provide blood flow to the genitalia – and there are some pretty awful side effects associated with its use. Like many ingredients used in traditional Chinese medicine, its benefits are based on tradition and superstition, and little else.
THE PRICE AND QUALITY OF Provestra
Provestra is available on the company’s main site, where it sells for $69.94 per bottle. On Amazon it can be bought for $90 for a 60 day supply.
Each container has 30 tablets, so if the suggested dosage is followed each bottle should last around a month. The company claims that people don’t really start to see the promised effects until about a month after starting to take them, however, so this means that people are going to be expected to buy at least two bottles before they see whether it works or not.
In spite of the quality of the ingredients that the product claims, the product is fairly expensive unless bought in bulk, so for women trying it for the first time, they might have to spend a lot up front despite paying less per-bottle – but that discount only really counts if the product works for you. Otherwise, the costs really add up.
BUSINESS OF Provestra
Provestra is produced by Leading Edge Health, LLC, a company based in Tennessee. It is also known as Leading Edge Herbals and Leading Edge Marketing. Their contact information is:
Phone Number: (866) 269-3487
Address: 100 Fidelitone Way, Elizabethton, TN 37643
Email: No email given, just a customer support form that visitors to the site can fill out.
The company’s return policy covers orders returned up to 60 days after receiving the product for a full refund, minus shipping and handling.
The company website is well made and easy to navigate, containing not just information about the product and how the ingredients work, but also information about women’s sexual desire and myths associated with it. That said, the writing on the website is very intense, casual, and urgent, with a high tension throughout that feels like its meant to pressure women into buying the product. As opposed to an authoritative, calm explanation of what causes low female sex drive and how to fight it, all we see is an exhausting sales pitch.
Leading Edge Health does not have a very good reputation with customers, with around a dozen complaints on its Better Business Bureau page about its refund and shipping policies. Some people say they were charged for items they never ordered, and others had to hound the company for their money back on items that they returned.
The BBB has gone so far as to warn people to not buy from this company without fully reading their terms and conditions, as many people were burned by their auto-ship policies for some of their products.
CUSTOMER OPINIONS OF Provestra
Provestra has some very negative reviews on its Amazon page, and they actually outnumber the positive reviews:
“This product smells awful. I felt sick after smelling it!”
“I felt nauseous and dizzy, instead of aroused. I want to get my money back.”
“I was not able to get my money back.”
“This product didn’t work for me. I think it’s all mental, personally.”
“I’m actually not sure if this even works – I’ve already tried it for a month, and I can’t tell.”
CONCLUSION – DOES Provestra WORK?
Provestra has a lot of ingredients, and it’s obvious that they are throwing everything into this formula in the hope that it will be more powerful than another product that has fewer. But in the end, there are some questions as to the efficacy of some of their ingredients – especially kudzu root – and customers report that it doesn’t smell or taste particularly good. In addition, the company that makes it has a bit of an image problem, with lots of negative customer reviews for their customer service, and almost no positive ones to balance things out. The company would do well to try and fix this, otherwise it would continue to be a turnoff to customers.
In the end, this product is an expensive version of what other supplements offer, and with the loads of negative reviews about how it doesn’t work, women considering this should think twice about risking their money on this supplement.
There’s another product we can recommend that promises to have no side effects and comes with a guarantee of quality, and that product is Libitrinex. It’s formulated out of all-natural ingredients and is designed to improve feminine reproductive health, energy and sexual potency. Not only that, it can also help to treat the symptoms of menopause and PMS. Best of all, customers have glowing reviews about how it’s helped improve their sexual lives.
That being said, we can wholeheartedly recommend Libitrinex as the safest and the most effective option available. Click here to read more about what we learned about Libitrinex, and to read about how it measures up against the competition.
