What is it?

Lipogen PS Plus is a nootropic supplement that is made to aid memory, mental clarity, and overall cognitive health. They add how their natural formula is the only one with FDA approved health claims.

There are also clinical studies which show it is more effective in improving memory than a placebo. Another benefit claimed is that no other supplement has the same formula.

After examining nootropics the one found to deliver the most reliable results was Memotenz.

This contains a healthy formula which outperformed other nootropics.

Lipogen PS Plus Ingredients and Side Effects
Phosphatidylserine Phosphatidic Acid Phosphatidylinositol Phosphatidylcholine Phosphatidylethanolamine
Soy Phospholipids Glycerides Gelatin Glycerol Iron Oxide E172 (brown, red and yellow)

Phosphatidylserine: A chemical which helps to regulate much important function in the body. It gives cell their ability to work correctly. This combines both amino acids and fatty acids.

Examine.com has said about this additive:

“not necessarily needed as the body synthesizes it”

It may benefit elderly people or those with low levels of cortisol, but there is no demand for it in most people.

Taking larger amounts of this has not been fully studied enough by unbiased sources.

Phosphatidic Acid: This makes up cell membranes and helps signal important messages. Since it is found in large amounts naturally in the body, studies on its mental boosting effects are limited.

Phosphatidylcholine: Chemical extract found naturally in foods such as sunflower, eggs, soybeans, and much more.  The body naturally uses this chemical to help create acetylcholine, which is important for brain function.

Studies on its long term use are not known. It can potentially cause:

  • Redness, burning, and diarrhea.
  • Upset stomach, indigestion, and sweating.

Phosphatidylethanolamine: Known as a phospholipid, this ingredient can break down and cause oxidative stress. This can overtime increase one’s risk for cancer.

Soy Phospholipids: Found in foods such as rapeseed, chicken eggs, cow’s milk, and other foods. This is often added as a way to emulsify the surrounding ingredients.  This is typically added more as an inactive ingredient as opposed to a functional nootropic additive.

Lipogen PS Plus Quality of Ingredients

The formula relies on many similar ingredients, and uses what’s known as a Phospholipid complex. While these ingredients can help boost brain health, they are often not needed in otherwise healthy people. Only those who are older in age would truly benefit from this blend.

There’s also no need to get it from this specific source. Other natural sources such as wholesome foods can provide the same exact benefits. This would be a preferred approach for some, since it is more bioactive and better used by the body.

Provided in this link is a full outline of the most effective nootropics arranged in a top 10 list.

Price and Quality of Lipogen PS Plus

When taken at the full dosage strength each bottle lasts 20 days and sells for $54. This is exceptionally high considering the kinds of ingredients used, which can be found naturally in cheap foods.

They do offer a money back return for direct purchases made within 40 days, but some customers have complained that they were not given their money back.

The overall quality of these ingredients is lacking since it is unlikely to benefit anyone other than older people, and still, it ca be substituted for a reduced price elsewhere. There’s nothing in this that can provide strong benefits that aren’t found elsewhere for cheaper. Top ranked nootropics have been compiled in an informative best of list here.

Business of Lipogen PS Plus

The official name of the company is Lipogen US Inc. and their listed forms of contact are as follows:

Address: 655 Mulberry

Manteno, Illinois 60950

Email: [email protected]

Phone Number: (877) 624-8703

They have a F rating on their Better Business Bureau page due to many unchecked complaints. People had the following to say about the company:

“person I spoke to was angry and they said they would reimburse me… but they did not”

“they claimed I approved automatic billing but this was not true”

“was reassured I was backed by a money back return…  I was charged $159.80”

“false advertising and misleading information on charges”

Many were highly disappointed in the company, and some said they were scammed. There were repeat issues with shipping and of people being placed into an auto renewal contract. These meant that users have to continually pay the same amount of money each month, and were shipped unrequested products.

Some also said that the customer service people were very rude, and that they were angry to take customer calls.  This made it difficult to ask questions and to get fair responses from the people. Gain access to the very best nootropic supplements by looking at the top 10 expert reviewed list.

Customer Opinions of Lipogen PS Plus

There weren’t many user reviews found online, but here are a select few:

“you can get the same basic effects from cheaper ingredients that are soy free”

“does not work as described, I may be dumber now”

“more of an individual experience but I thought it brought me better clarity”

Though the official website makes this brand seem like a top notch product, user reviews were often greatly negative. There were constant issues with the overall quality, and some said they did not experience any changes at all.

One customer even noted how they felt less mentally sharp than before. Some who did their research on the ingredients also mentioned the fact that other much cheaper alternatives exist, which offer the same basic set of ingredients.

Some felt cheated out of money as it is priced much higher than other brands with similar formulas. One user also added how a basic lecithin complex could replace this supplement with the same basic effects, at a lower cost.

Conclusion – Does Lipogen PS Plus Work?

The ingredients in Lipogen PS Plus are decent, but can be found elsewhere. There’s no need to have to supplement with this, as the formula is essentially the same basic ingredients in slightly different forms. The company has also been criticized by many users who said they do not honor their money back return policy. Many also were placed into an auto-renewal plan unknowingly, which lead to outstanding charges users did not feel obligated to pay off. You can also get the same basic ingredients in foods, which would be cheaper and better used by the body.

Kaye Crawford says:

I’m disappointed I could not get a refund after using this product and experiencing sever stomach burning and diarrhea. Gastrointestinal pain destabilizing by ability to walk.

Karen says:

My elderly father tried to get his money back and they repeatedly gave him excuses why they wouldn’t and he had to send faxes of his bank statements…he still hasn’t been refunded. It’s a scam for the elderly, who they hope won’t be able to jump through all of their hoops.

Robert says:

My hometown daily news paper ran a long rather convincing miracle memory pill. Reverse dementia.
Wow. Can you see the stupid sign hanging around my neck. Don’t be suckered into this crap. I don’t know why, but my vision seems to get worse everyday

Asima says:

Hi Robert,

Do you think this worth trying for my mom who has early Alzheimer’s and is forgetting dates and places?

Zamina Zaman says:

So this lipogen doesn’t work. I am looking for something for memory loss.

Michael Robertson says:

We bought this product for my wife and my wife nearly turned blue an hour after taking the initial dosage. We ran to the hospital. She had severe gastrointestinal pain and severe runs for a week thereafter. We threw the rest of the bottle into the garbage. Don’t be suckered into to buying this supplement. We tried to get our money back but the customer service refused.
