Tune in to the Oprah Winfrey Network on Wednesday, June 1st 2024 for the story of a man who weighted more than 1,000 pounds. Kenneth Brumley was the heaviest patient to have ever entered the Renaissance Hospital in Houston. He weighed 1,022 pounds and had to have walls knocked down in his house in order to get out.
This documentary special, which originally aired on The Learning Channel, follows doctors as they work to perform life-saving surgery on Brumley, including removing two 40-pound tumors from his legs and a gastric bypass.
Everything has become a struggle for Brumley, even moving from one hospital bed to another. Now he must face recovery, a restricted diet and physical therapy.
