What is it?

Berocca is a fizzy drink tablet added to water to help users increase energy and mental performance throughout the day. This effervescent product comes in three different flavors and is meant to be taken regularly as one would a multivitamin.

Berocca is made from B vitamins, minerals and other key ingredients that support general health and wellness, while improving mental performance. Berocca claims the addition of guarana to the multivitamin formula offers improved neural activity.

After reviewing many vitamins, herbs and nootropic ingredients, our reviewers have found Memotenz most effectively delivers the mental performance and memory boosting capabilities users are looking for. Click here for a closer look at how Memotenz can improve your performance at work and in day to day activities.

Berocca Ingredients and Side Effects

The Berocca website has provided a list of ingredients used to make this product. Here’s a quick glimpse as to what you can expect to find within the formulation:

B Vitamin Complex Vitamin A Vitamin C
Caffeine Guarana Extract

B Vitamin Complex: This formula contains all vitamins in the B complex, including B6, B12, biotin, folic acid, pantothenic acid, niacin, thiamine, riboflavin—which all work together to generate energy within the body, support the central nervous system and form red blood cells. B vitamins also support the brain and may help reduce anxiety

Vitamin A: A key ingredient in maintaining a healthy immune system, vitamin A is an antioxidant used to support neurological function, fight inflammation and reduce damage caused by free radicals in the body.

Vitamin C: A vitamin used to fight off illness and maintain a healthy immune system, vitamin C may also be useful in treating thinking problems, depression, stress and fatigue.

Caffeine: A chemical found on coffee, tea and more, caffeine is used to boost energy levels both physically and mentally, as well as promote focus and reduce the symptoms of ADHD.

  • Side effects may include racing heartbeat, headaches nausea, dizziness, tremors, chest pain, agitation and trouble sleeping.

Berocca Quality of Ingredients

In looking over the Berocca formula, it’s clear this product makes for a good stand in for both an energy drink and a multivitamin, which is clearly appealing to a large population.

This product is available all over the world, and on various e-commerce stores, which speaks to its credibility as far as safety is concerned. Additionally, this is made by drug giant, Bayer Group, which further cements its status as a regulated mainstream product.

Now, credibility aside, it’s hard to know whether the cognitive benefits are overblown to some extent. If you take a look at the consumer reviews for this product, not many people mentioned that this product helped them concentrate better at work, or that they experienced greater clarity when thinking.

It’s hard to say whether this is a high quality product, it’s reputable, but it’s kind of out of the same league as some of the nootropic supplements coming on the scene as of late.

The Price and Quality of Berocca

Berocca is sold is a wide range of brick and mortar stores and online platforms in over 70 countries. You’ll likely be able to purchase this product in any CVS, Target or your local supermarket. Additionally, you can find Berocca on Amazon for $6.79 for a box containing 6 tablets.

Prices vary depending on the retailer, but Berocca is almost always under ten dollars per box.

In terms of quality, Berocca could very well be a case of getting what you pay for, as it’s mainly caffeine and vitamins. But, as compared to drinking coffee, it’s likely cheaper than grabbing a cup or two each day from your local coffee shop.

Business of Berocca

The company behind Berocca is well-known drug company, Bayer. Here is the contact information posted on Bayer’s company website:

Phone: +49 214 30-1

Address: Bayer AG
51368 Leverkusen, Germany

The Berocca website is comprehensive, and it’s clear it has been created by a company with a rather large budget for graphics, multiple pages and a slick marketing team. The site is easy to navigate and lays out someone might want to use Berocca, as opposed to coffee or a multivitamin.

Bayer positions Berocca more as this wellness supplement versus a true brain-boosting supplement, and it’s convenient and easy to find everywhere from the grocery store to Amazon, Target and countless other platforms, though the official website only functions as a means to showcase the product.

We wish the site offered more information about how this product works to help with cognition, memory and other expected benefits of this type of supplement. There was a brief mention about how the B vitamin complex affects the central nervous system, but little else — otherwise its clear caffeine and guarana are the key ingredients here.

Based on the company information, along with the formulation, we’re not sure we would recommend this to someone looking for a nootropic or at least something known to boost productivity in a way that’s a bit different than the expected effects of caffeine. But, this is made from a global corporation, which means any serious adverse reactions would have been documented.

Customer Opinions of Berocca

People seem to really like Berocca, but it’s unclear how many people are using this as a way to improve their brain, or as something that helps them stay healthy, cure a nasty hangover or replace coffee. Here’s a look at what people were saying about this product:

“I’m not sure how good this product is for you, per se, but I do really like it. It’s great for hangovers or as an alternative to a big cup of coffee when I need a little boost.”

“I used this to kick my habit of drinking Reed Bull and popping an Adderall when cramming for an exam. The price is pretty good and I’ve noticed an improvement my concentration.”

“I like being able to get the caffeine without having to drink coffee, the extra vitamins are a good bonus, and I feel like this is my secret weapon when I have a hangover. Can’t beat it really.”

“I use this when I travel and to avoid getting sick. Caffeine plus vitamins — not really much to it, but I like the fizzy drink tabs.”

It seems that Berocca is really dependent on your body chemistry. Some people loved it, while others reported no change with use, and others still felt a little nauseous or jittery.

Based on the above reviews, as well as others we came across in our research, it’s hard to get a good sense of what the typical reaction to Berocca is. There are quite a few positive reviews, so this may be a promising solution for people who need a boost here and there.

Conclusion – Does Berocca Work?

After evaluating Berocca it seems that this product has a strong international following and that people really like this product. It seems to be used as a way to treat hangovers, promote wellness and so on, like an Airborne or EmergenC-type product.

Additionally, it didn’t seem like there were many negative side effects associated with this product. The Berocca website did a nice job of listing the ingredients, along with the intended benefits of the product. Overall, it seems consumers can at the very least, count on a product that won’t cause many adverse effects (barring any caffeine sensitivity or sleeplessness) and that will deliver some nutritional benefits in the form of B vitamins, vitamins A and C, and more.

What we would have liked to see, is the inclusion of some herbal ingredients known for their ability to change brain function for the better. Aside from the vitamin lineup, there’s no clear differentiator between Berocca and your standard energy drink. much more so than when operating without any nootropics in their system.

Even after taking the formula into consideration, there’s just not enough there for us to group Berocca in with other cognitive enhancement supplements. Users have access to an affordable product made by a multi-national corporation, which goes a long way in establishing consumer confidence, however, it seems this is more in line with the type of vitamin C drinks you’d take before getting on a plane, or an energy drink.

For people with a true problem with focus or concentration, or more serious issues like ADHD or a mood disorder, we’d recommend looking at a different type of supplement, one with more of a track record for improving performance.

We’ve reviewed a vast number of cognitive enhancement supplements before discovering Memotenz works best at delivering the types of benefits that add real value to your workday and beyond. A blend of herbs, including St. John’s Wort, bacopa monnieri, gingko biloba and more deliver improved memory, cognition and a heightened ability for learning new information, no matter your age.

The makers of Memotenz operate in accordance with GMP standards, and subject the supplement to routine reviews by third-party quality control experts. Click here to read more about Memotenz and the ingredients you’ll find inside.

berocca gave me anxiety and much worse i almost fainted. first started to have migraine. then nausea and feeling like going to vomit. my hands and feet became too cold. then my fingers become numb and stiff. i thought i was gonna pass out.

Binge Eaters says:

Thanks for this honest review. I was almost planning to purchase this. In my opinion, I think this is not best for coffee drinkers, because Berocca is similar to what coffee can do…as stated in the previous reviews. If you’re a coffee drinker + you drank Berocca, that could be the reason why you got dizzy or almost fainted. I’m glad I found this site.

I’d probably try something else.

It’s too sweet and has too much food colouring.

Currently overseas and thought to take a Berocca tablet as I was feeling flat after a full day of exploring. Within a short time of taking it, I had a headache. Then the nausea started. I couldn’t keep my head in the air without getting dizzy, but laying down made the room spin. Then came cold feet and cold body. I was almost shivering. I became very warm, and proceeded to throw up. Twice. It was a very slow and painful process to get this out of my system. Do not recommend.

The suitable time to drink berocca? Morning or night?.. if I consume at night, there are have any effect to my body? Such as kidney stone or etc??

Graham Webb says:

I have been taking this for years without any problems, makes me feel better, have not had a bad bout of flu for years, good stuff….

Mooney says:

I have taken Berocca for a few months and notice a weird chest pain develop. A little like acid reflux/heartburn but more like having a stitch near my heart/oesophagus. I actually didn’t realise it was the Berocca and was trying to work out what else in my diet was causing it for a while. I realised it was the Berocca because I ran out the other day while travelling, so I didn’t take it for a few days and the weird chest pain slowly decreased and then completely disappeared! I am really happy I worked out what it was, but I will now stop taking it and find some other multivitamin to replace it.

If you don’t have this side effect, then I can recommend Berocca. It was a great supplement for my active lifestyle and vegetarian diet (before the chest pain!) and when I did get sick/have a cold (perhaps once or twice a year), the period of time I was sick for was markedly reduced (1 or 2 days instead of 4-5 days to a week) and I did not develop an annoying cough as I used to before I took Berocca.

Hir says:

I have very bad muscle pain after I started consuming berocca.

Patricia Mcgowan says:

I took Berrocca for 18 years and I swear by it,. Prior to taking Berrocca I was over weight, even eating very little. I also used to fall ill and would catch any lurgy going around, then I discovered Berrocca and slowly but surely I found I was loosing weight and wasn’t as prone to catching everything doing its rounds. I was known in my office as the Berrocca women and several other office colleagues started using it also. I used to take mine religiously first thing, even before my cuppa tea to kick start my day and the only side effect for me was my urine changed colour,. In the winter months I took it with hot water. In my opinion and from someone who is sensitive to the world I rate it as the best No One.

Lionel says:

I was really surprised by the negative reviews at first but it makes sense. Berocca is VERY powerful and it takes some time for your body to adjust. I took it after long lasting secondary effects of a very bad flu (I had knee pain and difficulty focusing for 3 months, at which point a doctor told me high fevers deplete vitamins and zinc, and berocca seemed to fit the bill).
Anyways, my knee pain was gone after a couple weeks, and a couple months later I feel like my brain is back to normal. Better than normal actually.
I have lost weight because it cuts my appetite (apparently it’s the vitamin B complex), I used to sleep 12 hours a day, I’m down to 6-8 hours, and I now feel warmer all the time when I used to feel cold all the time(increased metabolism).
I really like the taste (I have to fight myself hard to take only one per day), and even if the effect was really weird in the beginning (I had to adjust to sleep 6-8 hours per night which felt very little but it’s the new normal for me). It’s really great to feel energized all the time. I’m thinking of taking one a day for the rest of my life, the improvement is really impressive for me.
