Interview with Jerry Hayes, Eliminated Biggest Loser Week 2

UPDATE: Jerry Hayes Wins At-Home Biggest Loser Prize.

Facing elimination last night on The Biggest Loser, Jerry Hayes is looking forward to not only the finale, but living a healthier and happier life. Jerry put in a hard fight during week two on the ranch, but unfortunately, did not make it any further than the elimination room.

At home, Jerry is continuing on his weight loss journey and is working hard towards his goals. He sat down with his granddaughter and made a New Year’s Resolution to run in a 5K race together in 2024. Jerry has started to incorporate running into his routine. His granddaughter is excited to be taking on the challenge with him. He aspires to run in the Bay to Breakers, a footrace that stretches 12K from the northeast end of downtown San Francisco, California through the city and finishes at the Great Highway (adjacent to the Pacific Coast, where the breakers crash onto Ocean Beach!).

When it comes to working out, Jerry said he dreads the gym but yet looks forward to it at the same time. It’s part of his lifestyle now and even on days off he sometimes gets the urge to go workout. The former self-proclaimed couch potato can now be seen power walking and getting in his workout with his trainer at home in Wheaton, Illinois. Reminding himself of lessons learned from Jillian Michaels, that his body CAN do it. “You just have to get your mind out of the way,” Jerry says. Once you do that, you can achieve anything.
Jerry’s tip to power walkers in training, “you have to build up gradually.” Jerry says that balance is an important factor and that once your balance is better you will be walking faster in no time. He advises to keep challenging yourself and to just believe.

Jerry hopes to be down 160 pounds for the finale, and from the sound of excitement in his voice, Jerry’s going to be achieving his goals.

Check out Jerry’s progress today!

Jerry and his wife both looked amazing in the “after” video…it sucks a lot that he had to go home this early in the game, but he obviously learned enough to stick with the program. He’s going to give a run for the money for the 100k and if they do a mid-season weigh-in to bring someone back like they did in the last two seasons, he’s got good odds of returning to the ranch.

Rosie says:

This was the saddest moment on the show for me since Dr. Jeff went home. I was really glad to see that both Jerry and Estella did well at home. They were awesome contestants.

Sissy Sandy says:

I have known Jerry his whole life as I am his sister. He had always be kind, caring and low key. He thinks of others before himself. Once he sits his mind to something, stand back. He has always been very responsible. I cried when I saw the weight lost show with his family. I couldn’t believe it. I label it a miracle. BL thank you so much. NOW MY BROTHER IS THE PERSON I KNOW HE WANTS TO ME. HE IS SO HAPPY AND CONFIDENT.
