Coleen’s Biggest Loser Episode 7-2 Recap

Is $25,000 really worth leaving the experience of a lifetime? This week the contestants were greeted by Ali Sweeney and offered an opportunity to have $25,000 if they chose to leave the Biggest Loser ranch this instant. She even offered a limo ride to the airport! It was a matter of how commited they were to changing their lives or whether they were in this game just for the cash prize. Joelle had some weighing thoughts on the matter and almost crossed the line to take the cash. Luckily for her, she realized that there is no experience like this and you cannot put a price on getting your health back.

biggest loser 7Nothing says rest and relaxation like a beautiful shot of the ocean… until Ali Sweeney tells you that it’s time for the challenge! During the challenge the contestants are to hop into a kayak and race to shore where they will be in an uphill battle to the top. Another crucial prize in this weeks challenge because getting to the top of the mountain first means one thing, immunity. Second, third and fourth place means a phone call home but coming in very last means a one pound disadvantage at this weeks weigh-in. Tara wins the challenge, with Blaine in second, Mandi in third, and Helen in fourth. The seven other contestants fight to get to the top so that they are not in last place. Daniel finds himself coming in last and even with the one pound disadvantage staring him in the face, he’s just happy to have made it to the top.

Tempers flare during the last chance workout when Bob Harper finds himself frustrated with Joelle for not giving 100% of herself to the workout. Bob cannot take another moment of Joelle’s talking and not trying and begins to yell. He later describes his yelling as being “possessed by Jillian Michaels.” The priceless look on Jillian’s face tells me that she was not only delighted by the yelling match but found it absolutely comical to see Bob in such spirits!! You can see Bob’s meltdown here.

As we go into the weigh-in with the restless thought of the dreaded week two plateau, we are surprised to see the contestants pulling off double digits! The scale sends Jerry and Daniel below the yellow line. After an emotional decision for most players, the contestants choose to send Jerry home and Daniel has the chance to stay another week.

Although Jerry had some medical issues the first week he was on the ranch he has continued to lose weight at home, eliminate diabetes and get off most of his medications. It’s as if all his medical issues have “gone away.” Jerry and Estella are able to spend most of their free time enjoying life and being active with their grandchildren. At home Jerry has lost 84 pounds and Estella is now under 200. Both are working towards the finale the way they came into this game… together.

And I love the fact that Jerry was able to lose the weight with his wife! He is doing such a fantastic job!!! Although I gotta tell you, seeing Bob lose it was interesting. Not so sure Joelle deserves to be there (her partner does that’s for sure). I just hope she kicks it into gear and starts working at it instead of “Faking it until she makes it”! I was really IRKED as I would love to be on the show and wish I had the opportunities she has!

Lisa says:

Last night’s show was quite different than usual. I thoght Bob was going to kill Joelle. I’ve never heard so much bleeping out. He’s right thou….JUST DO IT!!!!!! I know it’s got to be hard but I can’t believe some poeple get on the show & whine about the hard work!! DUH what did you think was going to happen? Everyone on the show needs to be thankful for the chance & do their best at all times. The rewards are endless!!!! I am glad Jerry is such a great guy & I am happy for him & his wife. They look great!!!

Chris says:

me and my husband both cried that Jerry had to leave. But i was sooo happy that he lost so much weight. He looked great! I was really irked by Joelle and really wanted her to be the one to go. Also, when we saw the at home players working out, it didn’t look like her partner was doing much but dancing around to her headphones. I hope she’s doing for then that for her workouts.
Love your updates Coleen! and love your hair this week!

Joaquin says:

Too bad Jerry had to go, and OMG Bob!! Maybe I’d choose Jillian over him now..yikes!

Elie says:

OMG is all I can say with Bob. He was pushed to the boiling point that’s for sure. It was like watching a male version of “Jillian” ha ha!

Jerry looks awesome. I was sad he had to go but I would have been sad over Daniel too. Both really needed to be there but, ultimately someone had to go. Jerry really did a wonderful job losing weight at home and his wife also looks awesome. They look like a totally different couple. Big difference from the first episode.

I hope Joelle gets into the groove because this is a once in a life time opportunity and she has the potential of doing great!

Will says:

What an emotional epsiode!! These contestants have such huge hearts. The support for each other really represents what Biggest Loser is all about! Coleen! Another great job on the recap! You are not only America’s sweatheart but the voice of Biggest Loser. Can’t wait for next week!

VALERIE says:

I LOVE THE SHOW ADN TO SEE BOB SO FIRED UP LIKE THAT WAS FUNNY BUT HE DID THE RIGHT THING TOWALK AWAY AFTER HE REALLY GAVE IT TO JOELLE SHE ACT”S LIEK SHE DON’T WENT TO BE THERE SEND HER HOME AND LET THE ONE’S THAT WENT TO BE THERE STAY THEY NEED TO GET HEALTHY

Heather says:

You did a lot better this week. You looked more relaxed. I was sad to see jerry go home. But he looked awesome in the overlook.

Krystina Gorman says:

I haven’t watch this episode yet. Haha, good job on the recap Col! You do a great job for diets in review!

Amy says:

I loved see Bob loose it on Joelle. I really wished she could have ended up below the yellow line, but I was happy to see Jerry continuing his success at home. He looks great!

Ed says:

It was so heartbreaking to see Jerry and Daniel fall below the yellow line. Neither one deserved to go home. They have 2 great hearts.
I was praying that Joelle was going to fall below the yellow line..if she did, she was gone in a clean sweep and a relief from the others. She needs to do her workout and tough it out during her workouts.

Doug says:

My Wife and I worry for Daniel. All of the others appear to have a support system in Place, such as family. Daniel appears to be in this world alone. I hope the People at Biggest Loser will go beyond the show, to make sure that this boy is educated and is shown what to do to live a healthy and happy life. There is so much more to do in this world than sit eat and play video games. Go Daniel Go Iam hoping to see what you look like at 195lbs. Bet you will get a date then.

Dana says:

First, I have to say you look great! You must feel awesome! I have a question for you. I have applied for the biggest loser (season 8). I was wondering when did you here from them about being on the show? I am just curious! Thanks and again you look so beautiful!

Leighsah says:

It looks like this season is going to be much better then the previous season with Vicky and Heba being so mean spirited and vicious. I was so sorry to see Jerry go home because he and Daniel need and deserved to be there and Joelle was the one that needed to go home. I rewatched the episode and laughed when Bob “lost it” with Joelle. He has never done that before but she absolutely deserved it. Her comment about “faking it till she makes it” shows that she doesn’t get it yet and she doesn’t realize how fortunate she is to be there. I have struggled with my weight my whole life and would love to be on that show to train with Bob or Jillian. Hopefully, Joelle figures it out soon.

Good job Coleen on the recap. You and Michelle were my favorites last season.
