Importance of Fueling a Workout

DIR's managing editor Brandi talks with Holly Perkins, the New Balance Fitness Ambassador, about the importance of fueling a workout.
Holly explains that working out is more than just about burning calories, which means that you need to have the proper fuel already in your body before you work out. If you eat properly before and after you work out, you will recover better, and build your overall strength. After all, you want to build muscle to keep your metabolism up. Recovery is important so that all your workouts can feel great. Holly recommends eating a meal two or three hours before working out, or eating a light snack with protein an hour before your workout.
