How to Prepare for a Half Marathon

Shay Sorrells explains how she's preparing for the NYC Marathon.

I have found the best tool yet for training for the marathon. It's a book called Half Marathon: You Can Do It, by Jeff Galloway. The book teaches you the Galloway method of running which is the run, walk, run method. It also gives you every other piece of information or nagging question you could possibly have, like what to do about chaffing or what to wear! He has some great drills in there on increasing your speed and what to eat the night before. It truly has revolutionized my runs! So pick it up and check it out. You'll be running in no time!
