About Me:

I am 55 and have been on every diet, fad and program there is. In 1984 had bariatric surgery to loose weight, they stapled my stomach and created a ring at the bottom of the staple line. I lost a initial 140 lbs but have not been able to loose the remaining 70, the stomach has since stretched out, I am now a diabetic so must eat low carbohydrate foods, I do believe that Weight Watchers way back in the 60's and 70's was the way to go, the newer program doesn't hold a candle to the old program. Would suggest looking up the old program online and give it a try!

The goals I'm working toward:

  • Loose my remaining weight of 70 lbs.
  • Be more fit and healthier in 2009
  • Stick to a exercise program

I haven't felt comfortable with my weight since:

Since I was a kid have been teased called names because of my weight, at 11 years old I was 146 lbs, I had to wear womens clothes. It was a horrific childhood.

My favorite healthy food:

All vegetables, with the exception of okra, don't like the texture. Have always loved my veggies.

My guiltiest pleasure:

Potatoes of any kind, I could live on potatoes. Unfortunately now being a diabetic can't eat them like I used too. It is very painful!

I'm inspired to live a healthy life because:

I no longer wish to feel and look the way I am today. I am always tired and my appearance when I look in the mirror is very unpleasing. I wish 2009 to be my year for getting healthy and looking good!

Healthy habits that work for me:

  • Stopped snacking on junk food, chips etc.
  • Have veggies as snacks instead.
