Runners Stretch

Saturday Morning Drills: Stretches for Runners

The runners stretch completes the static stretches and should feel extremely relaxing after a hard workout, especially a run. Simply lunge one leg back and position the other foot directly under your chest, placing your hands directly underneath your shoulders to keep balanced. You should feel a stretch in the hamstring and glute, while hitting the hip flexor and quad on the other leg. Hold for 30 seconds and then switch legs.
