Saturday Morning Drills: Stretches for Runners

Hip swings are a standing dynamic stretch that really loosen up the hip flexor and inner and outer thighs. Simply stand with feet hip width apart and hold onto something for stability if needed (as demonstrated above). Then, with left foot on the ground, swing your right leg across your body and to the left and then up and out to the right, being careful not to overextend. It shouldn't hurt, it should simply feel like a good stretch.
