Sunflower Seeds
Oprah's Great Brain Grocery List
All that munching at the ball field may be paying off in your noggin. Just a handful of these little seeds provide a healthy dose of vitamin E which works to protect neurons from free radicals. A Harvard study found that "those consuming the most vitamin E were 25 percent less likely to develop dementia."
As with any snack, just look for unsalted or lightly salted varieties, and stick to eating the seeds not sucking on the shells.
