Fresh Strawberry and PB Sandwich
Healthy Summer Sandwiches
Notice that's strawberry, not strawberry jelly. We skipped the usual peanut butter accompaniment and used thick slices of bright red, fresh strawberries. Your kids will love the switch, and especially that they can make this one on their own. When you drizzle the top with honey, it meets with the berry juices to create a naturally sweet "jelly" topping.
Make This Sandwich
On a slice of whole grain bread, spread your choice of creamy or crunchy peanut butter. Slice one or two strawberries (depending on size) and layer over the peanut butter, drizzle with honey, and top with the second slice of bread.
Make It Healthier
Almond butter works just fine instead of peanut butter if there are allergies. In either case, look for a low-sodium variety or those with low sugar.
