Kaylee and Vance’s story is interesting because it started before the final selections for the show were made. They weren’t allowed to talk to each other during the final auditions for season 11, but ended up waving to each other from their respective hotel rooms. Kaylee was selected to be on the show although Vance wasn’t. Before he left, Vance held up a sign telling Kaylee “I heart you”. He came to the ranch later for a chance to be on the show, but wasn’t selected. He was able to get Kaylee’s phone number though. From then on, the two maintained a long distance relationship. They had their first date when Kaylee visited Vance in Utah and they worked out together with Justin from season nine.
