While the big low-carb fad fizzled away with Y2K bottled water stock piles, South Beach Diet has stood the test of time and remains a popular weight loss plan. Contrary to other popular low-carb plans, this actually restricts saturated fats that are detrimental to heart health. Created by Dr. Arthur Agatston, a preventative cardiologist, South Beach Diet is designed to be a healthful eating plan that teaches moderation.
It's a three-phase plan in which the first removes white starches (potatoes, pasta, bread) and sugars (processed like candy and natural like fruit and honey). Lean proteins, beans, and vegetables are eaten during these two weeks. Then, you'll slowly reintroduce healthy carbs - like whole grain pastas and breads. Once you reach goal, you'll follow the maintenance phase.
You can follow South Beach Diet via the book or with the comprehensive subscription website. Either way, you'll learn a lot of about following a consistent fitness program. Exercise can increase your rate of weight loss, improve overall health, be key to maintenance. At the very least, walk 20 minutes a day.Next Prev Slide 4 / 8
