2009 Diet Trends

A trend that unfortunately is being followed by millions of Americans is childhood obesity. The CDC reports that there has been a consistent rise in the number of overweight and obese children since the 1970s. A lack of healthy school lunches, parents' lack of nutritional knowledge and dependency on convenience foods, and a far less active generation can all be blamed as culprits for childhood obesity. These early weight problems lend themselves to weight problems as an adult and adult obesity health problems as children like diabetes and high cholesterol. As with anyone struggling with their weight, promoting a balanced diet and plenty of daily activity can reverse this.
