Walnut Torte
These tortes will be a huge hit.
Yield: Serves 6
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup ground walnuts
- 1 1/4 cups Splenda
- 4 egg whites, room temp
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups cream
- 2 tsp. lemon zest
Instructions
- Preheat oven t 300F
- Beat egg whites until glossy
- Gradually add 1/2 cup Splenda, beating until stiff
- Beat in 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- Fold over two pie plates lined with ground walnuts
- Bake at 300F for 1 1/2 hours
- Turn oven off and leave in the oven for another hour
- Beat whipping cream with ½ cup Splenda, lemon zest and 1/2 tsp vanilla until stiff
- Layer walnut meringue and icing

(Page 1 of 1)I love walnut torte but realize that the normal recipes my not be the healthiest choice. So I tried this one. It actually turned out to me a walnut meringue not a torte. It was not cake or torte like at all. It has good taste but it crumbles everywhere.
