Walnut Torte

These tortes will be a huge hit.

Nutrition Facts: Carbohydrates 5.6g
Yield: Serves 6


  • 3/4 cup ground walnuts
  • 1 1/4 cups Splenda
  • 4 egg whites, room temp
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups cream
  • 2 tsp. lemon zest


  1. Preheat oven t 300F
  2. Beat egg whites until glossy
  3. Gradually add 1/2 cup Splenda, beating until stiff
  4. Beat in 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  5. Fold over two pie plates lined with ground walnuts
  6. Bake at 300F for 1 1/2 hours
  7. Turn oven off and leave in the oven for another hour
  8. Beat whipping cream with ½ cup Splenda, lemon zest and 1/2 tsp vanilla until stiff
  9. Layer walnut meringue and icing

I love walnut torte but realize that the normal recipes my not be the healthiest choice. So I tried this one. It actually turned out to me a walnut meringue not a torte. It was not cake or torte like at all. It has good taste but it crumbles everywhere.
