This dish is usually made with beef. We substituted turkey. No one will notice the difference!
2 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 lb ground turkey breast
1 medium-sized onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 lb macaroni, cooked
3 cups low-sodium pasta sauce
2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon crushed caraway seeds
1 pinch brown sugar
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese
Directions:
1. Heat a large pan over medium high. Sauté turkey, onion and bell pepper until done. Add sauce and spices and bring to a boil.
2. Cook macaroni until nearly done; drain in colander.
3. Add macaroni to turkey mixture and reheat briefly.
5. Serve hot with a sprinkle of cheese over the top.
