Plum Compote

Yield: Serves 4. Each serving: 2.5 ounces (1/4 cup)



Plums contain caffeic and ferulic acids which may help prevent stomach cancer. This simple fruit dish is wonderful any time of day.

5 each dark ripe plums
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup apple juice
1 Tbsp sugar

Pit plums and cut in wedges. Place all ingredients into medium-sized pan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook until plums become very soft, about 8-10 minutes. Cool slightly and serve warm.

This sauce goes well over the top of the Crustless Cheesecake or it can be a dessert by itself.
